Overview
For Winter Jazz Fest 2025, we were commissioned to film and edit a cinematic recap video that would capture the energy, artistry, and cultural breadth of the festival. Our goal was to create a hero asset that could be used across social media, the festival website, and partner communications, reinforcing the festival’s positioning as a premier destination for jazz lovers, while also driving awareness among new audiences.

The Challenge
Winter Jazz Fest presents a unique storytelling challenge: it spans dozens of performances, venues, and artists over several nights, each with its own energy and atmosphere. Capturing that diversity while maintaining a cohesive narrative required strategic planning and on-the-ground adaptability. We also needed to speak to two distinct audiences — devoted jazz fans seeking authenticity and younger viewers discovering the genre through social platforms — all within the constraints of a short-form format.

The recap needed to be edited, approved, and published within days of the event’s close to sustain momentum and capitalize on post-festival buzz. The Solution
Our approach began with precision coverage planning. We deployed a multi-camera team across key festival venues, coordinating shot lists that balanced performance footage, crowd moments, and behind-the-scenes texture. This allowed us to build a visually rich story that conveyed both the scale and intimacy of the event. Every frame was shot with the edit in mind — fast cuts, vivid lighting, and rhythm aligned to the festival’s dynamic jazz pulse.
